Competing for the interpretation prize are Anna-Victoria Baltrusch, Simon Thomas Jacobs, Pavao Masic, Seon-A Mun, Benjamin Sheen, Jihoon Song, Timothy Wakerell and Nicholas Wearne, while David Cassan, Samuel Liegeon, David Baskeyfield and Martin Sturm have been chosen as semi-finalists of the improvisation prize.

To mark the 50th anniversary, a Gold Medal has been specially commissioned to be awarded to all future winners of the Interpretation Competition, while the ‘Tournemire Prize’ of £6,000 is being reinstated for the winner of the Improvisation Competition.
As well as the Gold Medal, the winner of the interpretation competition will receive a cash prize of £6,000, recital engagements, representation by Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists in the USA for one season, and a solo recording made by Priory Records in the Great European Organs series.
The semi-final rounds are taking place on 16 and 17 July at St Saviour’s Church, while the finals will take place on 19 July at St Albans Church. The prizewinners’ recital and presentation of awards will take place at the cathedral on 20 July at 11.30am.
