Following the success of last year’s Yamaha piano selection sessions initiative, at which Yamaha took over a section of London’s Southbank Centre to showcase its range of pianos to potential buyers, the company will be running sessions at the Southbank Centre on 11&12 October and at Liverpool’s St George’s Hall on 17&18 January 2014.
The sessions are aimed at individuals and institutions interested in Yamaha’s high-end upright and grand piano ranges. More than 40 pianos will be available, including the CFX and many from the CX range, developed directly from the CFX but available at more accessible prices.
That last year’s event was a success could be seen as a positive indicator as to the state of the UK’s new instrument market, despite generally poor economic conditions at the time.
Leanne Barrel, Yamaha UK’s piano marketing manager, said: ‘These selection sessions allow people serious about their pianos and music an exclusive opportunity to play a wide range of Yamaha professional pianos in one place in an intimate and tranquil environment, and to discuss their requirements with some of the UK’s foremost technicians and specialists. They provide the most comprehensive range of Yamaha pianos in the UK and are a rare opportunity for pianists to try multiple variations of the same models.’
The weekends will run in conjunction with Yamaha’s Piano Upgrade part-exchange scheme.
