If you go down to Paternoster Square by St Paul’s Cathedral on 22 June, you’re in for a big, inflatable, hat-shaped surprise – the City of London Festival is making the square something of a centre of operations, and the temporary three-storey-high Bowler Hat theatre, seating just over 200, will play host to events ranging from children’s puppet theatre and circus to late-night comedy, via presumably heated debates on justice, money and power.
